A Tug on the Leash (The Authority Which the GB Wields Over the R&F)
by Oubliette inrecently, several comments have been made in various threads in reference to some of the recent changes to a few of the rules by which jehovah's witnesses must live their lives in unquestioning compliance.
the assertion has been made that these rules are a "relaxing" of previous restrictions.
the suggestion has been made that this somehow indicates a corresponding relaxing or loosening or lessening of the authority which the governing body (gb) holds over the rank and file (r&f) members of the religion.

How do JWs Not see how barbaric YHWH is? Its what started my awakening.
by BU2B inif one reads genesis from the first chapter through the end with an open mind, it is clear that not only is it not true, but that god is potrayed as a cruel, petty, childish micromanaging tyrant.
if one continues reading the ot this is just further solidified.
how do jws not see the obvious?

Jehovah had to be tough with early mankind. They were hard-headed and hard-hearted.
But with the new covenant, Jehovah showed His loving side in the person of His son Jesus.
It's a lot easier to be a Christian than it was to be a Hebrew.

My Former Congregation is Dead
by Nosferatu inwhen i left the jw organization, there were about 80 publishers in my congregation.
within the last month, the congregation was abolished because it only had 29 publishers in it.
the apparent reason for this was one elder on a power trip.

Someone should have told the CO what was going on. Maybe he could have stopped it.

What Motivates Jehovah's Witnesses To Stay In The Religion?
by minimus ini believe it is mostly guilt.
many witnesses pioneer or "reach out" in the religion because they feel guilty.. they may feel they aren't doing enough.
they may have secretly "sinned" against rules imposed by the organization.

I stay in the religion because my prayers are answered in wonderful ways, almost daily. I have a very close, personal relationship with Jehovah.
Take this morning for example. My regular field service buddy is sick and couldn't go out. I prayed for my 'back-up' field service buddy to come out even though she rarely goes out on Saturdays.
Guess who was at the meeting for field service? My back-up buddy. This kind of stuff happens to me frequently.
I figure as long as my prayers are being answered, I must be where Jehovah wants me to be---with the JW's.

A Unique Web Site: JWlove.org
by Londo111 inwell, all parodying of the january 2014 awake aside: no, not so unique.
unlike the claims of jw.org, it is not the one true website that will solve all your problems.
in fact, jwlove.org will not be for everyone and i admit that there are likely other places where the same information is presented in a better, more comprehensive manner.

I agree that 2014-15 are going to be interesting years for the JW's.
Then 2016-17 brings the Presidential Election, which will also be interesting to see who wins and what agenda they're going to have.
We live in interesting times, for better or worse.
Choose wisely.

The Paid Clergy of the WTBTS
by The Searcher indoes the wtbts of transylvania have a paid clergy?.
but do they lie about it and claim otherwise?
here are some of their falsehoods, imitating "the father of the lie" and his deceptive practices, to blind people's minds:.

How the WT would look if written in 1st person: SO DISGUSTING
by Antioch inhow would the watchtower of july 15th read if the watchtower was written in 1st person from the ones allegedly preparing an dispensing spiritual food (ie the watchtower)?
why is it written by a faceless 3rd person telling readers what to think about the people who are allegedly dispensing the very material i'm reading?
i was reading the july 15th article and laughed at the ridiculousness of it all.. .

"The 'truth' may well set us free..."
The truth is so obscured in these times and the lie is so well established that unless one loves the truth, one could not recognize it.

So which religion IS actually correct?
by punkofnice ini read plenty of threads here.. what amazes me is how each 'theist/believer' is totally convinced that their way/cult is the correct one.
even xtians are not in agreement over doctrine.. ok. so i've heard the excuse that it's the devil's fault..............but come on.............what a cop out.. is god so incapable of giving a consistant message of which is the true way?.
i'd tend to think god doesn't exist and it's just the thoughts of deluded people with deluded ideas.............otherwise the real truth would be obvious.. god is really powerless if it/she/they/it have to rely on the game of chinese whispers..

Those with pure hearts will find the only true God.
Those without pure hearts will never find Him.
